SF News Hub is  a new website offering stories about the Bay Area’s neighborhoods. Most of the stories are done by  aspiring journalists at San Francisco State University.  SF News Hub also features stories about Bay Area journalists through the Seeking the Truth documentary project.

Editor

Yumi Wilson is an award-winning journalist whose been work has been published in the Associated Press, the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Jose Mercury News, Los Angeles Herald Examiner, SF Gate, Hokubei Mainichi, Newsdesk.org, MAMM magazine and the online edition of Hyphen magazine. She is the editor of her own news site, SF News Hub, a blogger for City Brights and personal essay editor for Hyphen magazine. Wilson teaches reporting, news writing, opinion and literary journalism at San Francisco State University. She is a graduate of Journalism and International Relations from USC in 1990. She received her MFA in creative nonfiction from USF in 2007.

Seeking the Truth co-producer

Marlo McKenzie is a writer and filmmaker originally from the Detroit area. She has studied language in France, worked in theater in Germany, helped to start a video production company in Australia that trains homeless youth, and now resides in San Francisco, California where she works in documentary film and runs her own video production company, bad leg emu.  She believes in leveraging the power of media to create a shift in thought and action that will positively transform the world.

Allison Gore
Graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco with a BFA in Illustration. She currently lives in sometimes sunny San Francisco and likes lasagna.

Contributing Editors:

Tara Haghighi is a journalism student at San Francisco State University. She was the Spot News Editor for the [X]press in the fall of 2009. She is currently a sales and marketing intern for University of Dreams. Tara is in her last semester of college, and hopes to travel and gain more experiences before attending graduate school.

Jackie Torres is a journalism student at San Francisco State University who loves music. She is a blogger and knows her way quite well around the digital world, thank you. She is currently the A&E editor for the campus newspaper, [X]press.
